L3
The L3 Tankette was an Italian light armored vehicle used primarily in the 1930s and during World War II. Based on the earlier C.V.3 tankette, it was a very small, two-man tracked vehicle armed typically with one or two 8 mm machine guns. Its armor was extremely thin, offering protection only against small arms fire and shrapnel. The L3 was mainly employed for reconnaissance, infantry support, and colonial campaigns in Ethiopia and North Africa. While fast and inexpensive, it was lightly armed and virtually useless against other tanks, making it largely obsolete in later battles against Allied armored forces.
