Panzer II
The Panzer II (Panzerkampfwagen II) was a German light tank used in the early stages of World War II, primarily for reconnaissance and infantry support. Introduced in the mid-1930s, it was armed with a 20 mm autocannon and a 7.92 mm machine gun, and featured relatively light armor, making it ineffective against most enemy tanks later in the war. Despite its limitations, the Panzer II was crucial during the Blitzkrieg campaigns in Poland, France, and early operations in the Soviet Union, providing mobility and coordination while Germany’s heavier tanks were still in development.
